In 2008 we worked on a book for a rancher in deep West Texas, bordering Mexico and the Chihuahuan desert. He and his cousin owned around 250 square miles along the Rio Grande. The views from his mountain behind the ranch house were over 150 miles on clear days. Spectacular night skies, sunrises and sunsets, great food and great people.
